Rosie Batty

In February 2014 Batty became the face of domestic violence in Australia when her son Luke was killed by his father at a Melbourne cricket ground. In the face of her own pain and grief, Batty decided to use her experience to campaign for greater protection of women and children.

Since then she has been named the 2015 Australian of the Year and has been instrumental in the establishment of a Royal Commission into Family Violence.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull had her at his side when he announced a $100 million domestic violence package.
