Paige Burton
Board Director, UN Youth Australia
While still completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney, Burton is the youngest person in this year’s Impact 25. As the head of an organisation that educates over 15,000 young Australians each year about international issues and the role of the United Nations, she is passionate about the role that young people can play in international affairs and educating their peers.
As of February 2013, UN Youth Australia had over 1000 volunteers who, if paid at minimum wage, donate over $2.7 million per annum to educating young Australians. At such a young age, Burton has an impressive resume, which includes being Events and Operations Manager at the Centre for Australian Progress.
“One of the most caring and kind people known to the local community and the world around her. She has been working with many Not for Profit organisations, including assisting building schools in East Timor and working with the United Nations Youth component. Paige is so very well deserving of this nomination.”
