Jody Barney

Jody is a deaf Aboriginal woman who lives in Victoria but whose work takes her to some of the most isolated communities in Australia. Jody’s impact on disabled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has come from her understanding of social disadvantage, and the esteem in which she is held by communities who are struggling to get access to the NDIS or who are trapped in the prison system. Where bureaucrats can provide information Jody is able to provide solutions and change.
